Typical French Food
The Burgundy snail or Roman Snail or Edible Snail (Helix pomatia). It is frequently farmed and is called escargot when used in cooking.
Snail is another food that is appreciated in France and often considered as a "strange" food by foreigners. France is the biggest snails consumer in the world with 40,000 tons consumed per year. Most of the snails production is artisanal (gathering of wild snails).
Eggnog French Toast
I use a long electric griddle and heat to 350. A griddle on the stove on medium will also work.
1 cup Egg Nog
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
10-12 pieces of bread
Pour the Egg Nog, beaten egg, vanilla in a flat bowl and whip until combined.
Place bread into mixture, flip and coat both sides. Lay on griddle and sprinkle cinnamon sugar around it. Let it cook for several minutes approx. 4-5 minutes) until brown and turn over, to do the same.
Remove and ENJOY!
